I have to use Task Manager in order to end the task, but when I go to the document I closed, generally it will be saved just fine, so it is more of an annoyance than a devastating blow to productivity. Because freezing usually ocurred whenever I tried to save the document, I figured it has something to do with the network either up or down and the apparatuses that enable them.

I created two separate documents, put them under the same load, and originated them separately to either my local PC non-backup or to my OneDrive backup, where I save everything because I have 1 TB. The document consistently slowed or froze only when saved to OneDrive despite my internet testing upload and download far exceeding the mere couple dozen kilobytes my average Word document is. A quick search of OneDrive troubleshooting pointed to a sync conflict between Office trying to save it and OneDrive, and by going to the OneDrive settings for Office and unchecking “Use Office to sync files This thread is locked.
